Valdosta Citizen Speaking out on the is

Mayor and (ALL) City Council Members Must Go! Reasons will be given here!

"Valdosta City Council"  August 11, 2011
By:  George Boston Rhynes,

"End of Agenda New Approach"
Now you are "the first" to know!

Mr. Mayor, Council and Fellow Voters the FOLLOWING information is what I would have presented before the council.  However, since citizens concerns is of little value to you as our elected officials.  It though local citizens should know first and so I did not present this to council but will notify you by e-mail.

The following is why many VOTERS want you all voted out of office.  Moreover, Mr. Mayor and Council I will not surrender "FREEDOM OF SPEECH" in addressing you in the future!  But I will be always be respectful to all elected officials as in the past.  But no longer will I be controlled, suppressed and abated as the old disgraceful 1860 Valdosta City Charter that was removed in 2004.  I cannot disrespect the Founding Fathers of our Republic that granted all American Citizens freedom of speech and freedom of the press as recorded in our legal documents.

Just a few points to show my justification for wanting you all removed from council.  All local news media outlets will also receive this information through e-mail since too much information from public meetings have been ignored by the local press at all levels.  I do want the South Georgia Archival Record to present a false or incomplete picture of what took places in our community at this dispensation.  All voters must have this information so they can cast an informed vote during elections in our community.  Please follow all roads of truth!
#1.  The above picture represents the many problems presented to our Mayor and Council Members over the years; but too often have been ignored.  Example:  The HISTORIC PICTURES displayed in the hall way of Valdosta City Hall have practically ignored buildings, people and other pictures from the Black African American Community of the 1800s.  This omission gives the impression to children that attend Valdosta City Hall that Black African Americans were not living in Valdosta in the 1800s and there was no historic building worthy to be displayed to show inclusion of all citizens in our beloved community.  I was promised nearly two years ago that this omission would be corrected and I even volunteered to help in the process of obtaining pictures from that time period.

#2.  This picture reminds me of the “Valdosta Select Committee” concerning the renaming of Barber Park.  Wherein, our elected officials failed to place a single “VOTER” from the SCLC, NAACP or any other VOTER that actually researched the records, paid the fees and obtained documents under the Georgia Open Records Act to get the park renamed that removed a disgraceful and ugly time period of our beloved city.

#3.  This picture reminds me of May 5, 2005 when fifteen citizens were arrested and jailed for exercising their right to address their elected officials.  However, VOTERS sat in shock and awe; as Valdosta City Council Members sat and said absolutely nothing while fifteen VOTERS were hauled away to the Valdosta-Lowndes County Jail.

#4.  This picture reminds me of citizens being pushed to the end of Valdosta City Council Meetings Agenda!   By a council member that said some VOTERS leave the meetings without listening to other important issues brought before the council.  If this is true!  Then awards, decorations, worker of the month should also be moved to the end of the agenda because these VOTERS along with their love ones also depart these meetings following their portion on the agenda!

#5.  This picture reminds me of a White Jailed Inmate (A Registered Nurse)

-          She had her front teeth knocked out, deep gouges on her legs.
-
-          Pictures were shown to you.
-
-       She was transported to South Georgia Medical Center and released WITHOUT posting her bond.

-          Her mother was NOT informed that she had been injured; transported to the hospital and place in ICU for three days.

-          You all sat and looked like statesmen; but nobody asked about her conditions.

-          Or asked:  If she was receiving any type of medical treatment!

These are but a few reasons why I want an all new “Valdosta City Council and Mayor” that respects VOTERS and their issues.  We need elected officials that will insure that citizens are placed on the agenda; to show respect for VOTERS  while respecting Freedom of speech and Freedom of the Press.

Moreover, all citizens should be informed through democratic, republican, independent and other political parties and not just to a conservative few that too often disrespects the Commander-In-Chief of our sons and daughters now serving on three foreign battlefields.
